Not only is cycling a great way to get fit and save money, it’s also a great thing for our transport network. The more people out cycling, the fewer people on the roads — that’s just better for our environment and our city. We want to make it easier and more accessible for anyone to hop on a bike, but we’ve still got some distance to cover.

We know that cycling on the road feels intimidating for lots of people, and Wellington City Council is working on ways to make the roads safer for everyone. That means making space for people on bikes so you don’t have to worry about holding up traffic. We’re also making things better for day-to-day cycling. Keep up to date with new bike parks, fix-it stands and other facilities here.
