Desiree and John
John used to do a lot of cycling, but after surgery hadn’t ridden for 12 years. He wanted to start again with a folding bike that would be easy to take to flat areas. He said to me, ‘You could do this'. I hadn’t been on a bike in 50 years. But a couple of years later we went electric, and now we almost always bike together. We’ve done virtually every bit of interesting biking in Wellington - the electric bikes allow us to do that.

Alistair and Marg
“We got into cycling back in the '70s. We were living in Christchurch and commuting by bike. Then we took a trip to Europe and cycled everywhere. From there we got the kids into cycling from a young age. It’s something you can do together and it gets you to places you couldn’t get to by car. If we’re going to something in town, taking the bikes down is more flexible and it’s easier than trying to find parking.”
