Cycling can be more than a weekend hobby, or a way to get from A to B. Check out how these Wellingtonians have made cycling part of their lives.
Set a goal for yourself.
Where would you like to bike? Whatever your reason for cycling, keeping sight of your goals will help you stick at it. Try breaking your big goal down into achievable milestones. Do you want to travel the Otago Rail Trail by bike? Try setting yourself a goal to cycle at least 10km every week. Maybe you’d like to ditch the car permanently? In the meantime, start saving money by using your bike for an errand once a week.
Now that you’re riding regularly, it pays to do what’s called an M check before you head out. Checking the main points of your bike will help you get familiar with the way it works, and make sure you’re in for a safe ride.
