At Bikespace we want to demystify the bicycle - to give everyone a better understanding of how a bike works plus the skills to fix and maintain their own bike.  This Wellington City Council funded initiative provides a well-equipped workshop staffed by mechanics who assist and teach members of the Wellington community to repair and maintain their bikes.  Our emphasis is equal parts teaching and fixing - with the guests hands on and assisting with the work.

Most of the mechanics aren’t professionals.  We’ve learned through doing and with about 1,000 bikes visiting the workshop each year we get to see a lot of different bikes, components and challenges.  We’re keen to work with you to get your bike running at its best.

Thanks to the generous support of the Wellington City Council all services are provided free of charge.

When: Check Bikespace’s opening hours here.

Where: BIKESPACE is operating out of our blue BIKESPACE container which is currently situated here, at the South-Eastern corner of Te Papa – between the Te Papa car park and the Harbourside market, or where Tory Street meets Cable Street.
